About mrCharlie

"Legendary mrCharlie dazzles with Dead Inspired Interpretations of Classic Rock & Soul". mrCharlie captures an "often imitated but rarely duplicated sound".

The Philadelphia-based band is redrawing music boundaries with a one-of-kind, sonic blueprint that conjures classic rock and soul music in a manner inspired by the Grateful Dead. mrCharlie re-imagines classic rock and Motown of the ‘60s and ‘70s in a way that makes the listener hear — and experience — them in new and surprising ways. Throw in the polyrhythmic, syncopated double-drummer attack that allows mrCharlie more adventurous possibilities with their uniquely original arrangements, and you have a sound that is at once as new and adventurous as it is familiar.

Deeply ingrained in the Philadelphia music scene since the ‘80s, the group has played many of the city’s top-tier venues, including World Cafe Live, The Stone Pony, Tin Angel, Electric Factory’s Philadelphia venue, Rock Lobster, Maui, Pier 34, Ripley Music Hall and Chestnut Cabaret, plus outdoor concerts at Rittenhouse Square and Chestnut Street.

mrCharlie has attracted and ignited crowds ranging from 500 to 15,000. No matter what the size of their live audience, mrCharlie never fails to get everyone dancing with abandon.
